size and type suitable for the fabric selected
cotton or polyester

• standard buttonhole has 6 steps
• round, keyhole and hand-look buttonholes have
4 steps
• the active step is shown in the center
A manually sewn buttonhole cannot be saved.

Note:
Sewing buttonholes manually is ideal if you only need to
sew one; also for repairing existing buttonholes.
The number of steps depends on the type of buttonhole.

Repairing buttonholes
• omit or bypass the unneeded steps
• use only the steps which are necessary
to repair the worn sections
